As news that Manchester is to become home to Britain's first super-casino sank in, the Manchester Evening News looked at the winners and losers of the move - turning its front page into a fruit machine.
The paper began its second day of coverage with four pages of news analysis and reaction, led by the unusual and eye-catching graphic emblazoned with the headline 'Place Your Bets'.
The windows of the fruit machine also included news snippets, summing up some of the main points from the pages inside.
Editor Paul Horrocks said: "We knew everyone would be covering the story so we looked at ways we could make our front page different and eye-catching.
"What we came up with was turning the whole front page into a super-casino fruit machine complete with oranges, lemons, cherries and sevens."
Also included yesterday was a feature looking at the future of neighbouring Blackpool, which had been widely tipped to win the super-casino bid.
And a leader column in the MEN erred on the side of caution, saying that Manchester had won the jackpot, "but we do not yet know the payout".
