Granville promoted to deputy editor at Oxford Mail

Toby Granville, (pictured below), has been appointed deputy editor of the Oxford Mail.

Toby, (33), joined the Newsquest daily as assistant editor in October 2004.

He has previously edited the Wiltshire Times and The Wharf and started his career as a showbusiness reporter on the Sunday People at the age of 17.

He succeeds Andy Chatfield who has joined Southampton Solent University as a lecturer in journalism.

Several other key appointments have been made at the Oxford Mail and its weekly sister paper the Oxford Times.

Jessica Mann, (right), is joining as picture editor on January 29. She has worked as a photographer on daily newspapers in America for ten years and has been assistant photo manager for the Orlando Sentinel for three years.

Tim Hobden, (below left), has joined as assistant news editor and Tim Hughes, (below right), is returning to the team as assistant news editor (districts) after a stint in PR.
