Journalism style book author dies aged 76

A retired Scottish journalist who began his career at the Banffshire Journal has lost his battle with cancer.

Ronnie Munro, (76), was a trainee there, before progressing with his career to become a senior member of staff at the Scotsman, becoming night editor and associate editor (production).

In between he worked as a sub-editor on the Scottish Daily Mail before fulfilling his ambition of joining the Scotsman in 1956.

During 37 years with the Scotsman, Ronnie worked under four editors and was associate editor (production) when he took early retirement in 1993.

He was well-known for being meticulous in his work and wrote a style book for all Scotsman journalists.
