Regional press news in brief

The Express & Echo in Exeter is calling on readers to send in questions for the Prime Minister, after Tony Blair cancelled a Q&A session with reporters at short notice.
Reporter Nicholas Randall said: "We were told Mr Blair would be available to be questioned by the press. Then, after more than an hour of waiting in the cold, the press were told that the Prime Minister was running late.
"His helicopter would be arriving more than half-an-hour after the scheduled 4pm landing. The press slot had been shelved." The paper has vowed to send the questions on to Downing Street.

Northern Advertising has won the contract to produce Trafford Today magazine for Greater Manchester Council.
Northern, which is part of Johnston Press, with offices at the Halifax Courier Buildings, will print, design and sell the advertising space for the newspaper.

The head of BBC Scotland in Aberdeen has joined the city’s Robert Gordon University to launch a new undergraduate degree in journalism.

The Bristol Evening Post is teaming up with Bristol City Council to revitalise four “grot spots” for the paper’s Spring Clean campaign.

The Evening Gazette in Middlesbrough is urging readers to get behind a new eco campaign that it’s labelled Renew, Reuse and Recycle.
It will take an in-depth look at each theme, and focus on how Tees Valley people can make a difference to the environment.
