Daily Mail and General Trust has merged its two digital media businesses, Northcliffe Electronic Publishing and Associated New Ventures.
The new division will be known as Associated Northcliffe Digital, or AN Digital, and follows the merger of the group's regional newspaper operation, Northcliffe Newspapers, with its national newspaper operation Associated Newspapers.
AN Digital will be have divisions comprising newspaper companion sites, such as dailymail.co.uk and thisishull.co.uk; digital publishing, which will look after sites such as thisismoney; and digital classifieds such as jobsite.co.uk.
Andrew Hart, who is currently managing director of ANV, will be MD of AN Digital.
The new division will work closely with the group's newspapers to extend their digital services as well as building its portfolio of digital magazines and digital classified sites.
Lord Rothermere, chairman of DMGT, said: "Digital is a vital component of DMGT's future.
"By bringing together the excellent products and teams we have locally and nationally with those of our recently acquired companies, we will be able to provide more effective solutions for advertisers and roll-out new products for our customers faster and more consistently across our network."
