Johnston Press completes sale of farming title

Johnston Press has sold magazine Farm Week to Farm Week Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Irish News Ltd.

The group announced in October that it was to sell the assets of the magazine, after the Office of Fair Trading raised concerns over its group's ownership of the title because it had also bought Farming Life.

The sale has now been completed following approval of Farm Week Ltd as the purchaser from the OFT.

Farm Week, a paid-for weekly publication targeted at the agricultural community in Northern Ireland, was included in Johnston's purchase of Score Press Limited last year.

When the group also bought Local Press group - which included Farming Life - the OFT raised competition concerns, prompting the sale of Farm Week.
