Weekly's front page mock-up used in popular TV show

The BBC2 Coast series featured a mock-up of a Falmouth Packet front page in an episode which explored Cornwall.

While in Falmouth the Coast team investigated the historic importance of the port and showed how the Packet might have reported the death of Admiral Horatio Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Falmouth was first to hear the news about Nelson’s death when HMS Pickle arrived in the port after racing back from the battle with urgent despatches for the King.

The programme makers requested help from the Packet to prepare the front page mock-up while they were filming in Falmouth earlier this year.

The popular TV programme was shown three times on national television during November.
