The first meeting of a "remodelled" Neighbourhood Watch Association for Rugby barred entry to a Rugby Advertiser reporter, despite the paper being previously invited.
The Advertiser had previously reproted on another meeting which had "descended into uproar" when old members denounced the group's new constitution.
Organisers of the fresh meeting claimed the reporter was barred in a bid to prevent "concerted" opposition.


The Scotsman was named Regional Financial Newspaper of the Year at the Association of British Insurers Financial Media Awards.
Individual staff who were shortlisted included city editor Martin Flanagan, for Business Journalist of the Year, and former deputy city editor John Bowker who was shortlisted for Regional Financial Newspaper or Journalist of the year. Judges praised it for providing "a good balance between industry and personal finance issues".


An artist is holding an exhibition and auction of his work to raise money for the Harrow Times Caring for Kids appeal, in aid of CLIC Sargent.
The Harrow Times appeal, co-ordinated by reporter Sukhi Anand, is gaining momentum and has so far raised more than £3,000.
Martin Sears is currently exhibiting his work, and other local artists have also donated pieces for a silent auction to raise money for the appeal.


Editorial staff working on Archant Herts & Cambs title the East Herts Herald have moved to Welwyn Garden City.
Staff at the free weekly have moved from its former home in Harlow to link up more closely with sister titles the Welwyn & Hatfield Times and the Comet.


The Eastern Daily Press has held its 17th EDP Business Awards.
The black-tie awards night was held at the Holiday Inn, Norwich Airport, and was hosted by BBC East presenter Stewart White.
The event recognises the best companies and organisations in Norfolk, north Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire. Norwich construction services firm May Gurney took the top prize as it was named EDP Barclays Business of the Year.
