Bullying Online - the charity run by Yorkshire Evening Post sub-editor Liz Carnell - is to publish the results of a major six-month long survey into school bullying.

The National Bullying Survey 2006 is the largest survey of its kind ever undertaken in the UK, and saw more than 8,500 people take part.

Pupils, parents, teachers and older people who experienced bullying while at school were all quizzed, and Liz - who founded the charity seven years ago - says the results are "horrifying".

She said: "We knew they were likely to be bad because of all the e-mails we receive, but even I couldn't believe they are as awful as they are."

The survey results will be published on Monday, and Liz is also inviting regional press colleagues to e-mail her at help@bullying.co.uk to receive an embargoed copy. She can also supply case studies.
