Journalism survey generates 560+ entries: results due soon

The holdthefrontpage.co.uk survey into the journalism industry has generated more than 560 completed forms in two weeks.

Visitors to the website have been quizzed on what they think of HTFP, regional newspapers, training, journalism in general, the future of the industry and their place within it.

We’ll bring a breakdown of the results next month, complete with the name of the respondent who will collect the £150 prize for taking part.

Publisher Patrick Astill said: "The response was phenomenal for this kind of survey in such a short time.

"Although the results won’t be a scientific study, the sheer number of completed forms has given us a big enough sample for a credible and reliable guide to what readers are thinking.

"There have been some interesting responses, and we hope the anonymity built into the survey has enabled readers to be as honest as they can be."

The questions we asked readers included:

  • which area of the industry they work in;
  • the nature of their job and hours worked;
  • whether they expect to stay in the industry;
  • what training they have or are offered;
  • what they like/dislike about their job;
  • what they like/dislike about this website;
  • what else they would like to see at HTFP.
