A group of Morecambe football fans are touring all the Conference grounds in 48 hours over the August Bank Holiday weekend, in memory of a local journalist and the club's former captain, who died within weeks of each other.
Lancashire Evening Post sports sub-editor John Clarke and former Morecambe FC captain Gary Dullaghan both died of brain tumours earlier this year.
Five fans are aiming to raise money for Brain Tumour UK, and plan to set off from Morecambe's Christie Park ground straight after Saturday's match against Stevenage Borough.
Brian Campbell, Mark Swindlehurst, Matty Deighton, Stevie Downes and David Freear will then travel the country, stopping at the ground of each team in the Conference.
They will cover more than 1,000 miles and aim to arrive at Halifax Town's ground, The Shay, on Monday in time for kick-off of their match against Morecambe.
Lancashire Evening Post journalist John was an avid Morecambe FC fan and was also the paper's non-league reporter.
He had worked at the paper since 1988 and had also previously worked for the Slough Evening Mail, Sheffield Star, South Wales Echo and Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
