News and PR company captures former Sky man

Ex-Sky News correspondent and former regional newspaper man Martin Lowe has joined Bristol-based national news and PR company 72 Point, part of the South West News group.

Martin was Sky’s West of England bureau chief for ten years, covering the Rose West story, Sea Empress tanker grounding, the murder of Cornish schoolgirl Caroline Dickinson and the Bristol heart babies scandal.

Lighter stories included reporting live from the sharp end as a circus knife thrower’s assistant.

He also filed for Sky from the USA, France, Switzerland, Africa and the Arctic Circle.

He has previously has worked at TV-am, ITV Meridian, ITV Central and newspapers including the Birmingham Evening Mail and Wolverhampton Express & Star.

He said: “72 Point is fast, focused and has a unique approach – providing page-ready copy rather than press releases to TV, radio and newspapers.

“The company is growing at a remarkable pace and I hope I can bring broadcast experience to the great range of skills already in-house.”
