Three former journalism students from City College, Brighton and Hove, have told how they are now travelling the world working for an overseas property magazine.
Editor Matt Havercroft, staff writer Dan Savery and journalist Chris Nye, are all now working for 'A Place In The Sun', the accompanying magazine to the Channel 4 television series.
They had all previously studied the fast-track NCTJ magazine course at the college.
In the past two years staff writer Dan has travelled to Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, USA, Greece and Mexico.
He said: "Just being on the course opened a lot of doors for me, and I was able to take advantage of some work experience at The Argus, The Insight and The Big Issue.
"I think the most important thing I learnt on course was perseverance. Practising shorthand, reading about European law and endlessly applying for jobs can be uninspiring sometimes, but it does pay off in the end."
Chris works on special projects such as supplements and show guides for the magazine.
He said: "Since becoming a journalist and editor I have crowded more astounding experiences into the last three years than were in the previous 30 years combined.
"That's included being on a Royal Naval warship under mock air attack in the Atlantic, to being wined and dined by the mayor of New York, to interviewing famous and fascinating people."
