Staff from The Citizen in Gloucester have started work from their new base in the town after a relocation of the company HQ to Cheltenham.
Editor Ian Mean told guests at the official opening that the newspaper would remain at the heart of the community, with four reporters and a photographer remaining in the city.
He said: “The Citizen has a good reputation among the people of Gloucester – it’s very dear to them – and I wanted reporters and photographers based in Gloucester.”


The Bridlington Free Press has joined forces with the local Rotary Club in a pioneering new drugs campaign, where 5,500 information cards have been printed outlining the risks and symptoms of drug-taking.
The cards are for parents of school-age children and are part of the newspaper’s Build a Better Brid campaign. Editor Nick Procter said: “Being forewarned is being forearmed.”


The deadline for the Association of Online Publishing Awards is July 28. Entries are welcome from members and non-members alike in a revamped category list, with the presentation ceremony set for October 4.


The North West Evening Mail has launched four fridge magnets featuring stunning views of the Sir John Barrow monument to help with the funding needed to pay for vital repairs.

John Whittingdale MP, the chairman of the Commons Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport, was the guest at a Newspaper Society lunch, where he covered issues ranging from the BBC to the Office of Fair Trading.
