HoldtheFrontPage's Luke Woolliscroft is to cycle the length of the country to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Luke’s trip will begin in Land's End on Tuesday and he's hoping to reach John O'Groats by Sunday, July 16.
That's just 13 days to complete the planned route of 960 miles – 12 days at 80 miles per day plus a spare day for rest, repairs and recovery.
Sales executive Luke, (left), said: "There's four of us taking part in the trip (no support vehicle!) and between us we're hoping to raise £2,000; £500 each for our respective charities.
"I've chosen the MS Society because my uncle has had MS for the past three years, so any donations are really appreciated.
"We've each had to plan a section of the route – I've been lumbered with the final leg through the Scottish Highlands, which in itself has been quite a challenge – but I think we're pretty well prepared now. I can't wait to get going."
To prepare for the feat, the foursome recently completed an 80 mile ride around Derbyshire, The Peak District and Staffordshire.
He said: "It was a painful, but confidence-building experience and at least we know that we can cover the required distance. Now it’s just a matter of doing it for 12 consecutive days!
"I'm sure the first few days will be the worst – the hills in Cornwall and Devon are vicious. Hopefully once we've got through that stage we'll be used to the carnage of it all!
"Just spare a thought for me if England get to the World Cup final – I'll have to watch it in Scotland."
