Sub's anti-bullying charity receives £50,000 donation

Bullying Online, the anti-bullying charity run by Yorkshire Evening Post sub-editor Liz Carnell, has been given a £50,000 donation by Simplyhealth, which runs the Leeds Hospital Fund.

The money will be used for a hi-tech project to deliver support to parents and children using the charity's new website at www.bullying.co.uk, which has been relaunched with updated and expanded content.

Liz said: "We've had a fantastic year.

"As a result of some great fundraising we've been able to employ two staff and we're about to move into a new office because we have so many projects on the go and we need space for more staff and volunteers."

Bullying Online was founded by Liz and her son John in 1999.

Since then it has won several awards and has been a major voice in the campaign against school bullies.
