Birmingham Post editorship announced

Trinity Mirror Southern editorial director Marc Reeves is the new editor of The Birmingham Post.

Marc joined TMS as editor of the Reading Chronicle in 1997 and has since held several senior editorial and general management posts as the company has grown.

In the latest ABCs, the Birmingham Post increased circulation year-on-year by 3.3 per cent to 13,366.

Marc, (40), told HoldtheFrontPage: "This is a wonderful opportunity to return to my home city and so was a bit of a no brainer.

"The recent rise in circulation has shown what can be achieved by a paper like the Post and I'll be doing my damndest to make sure that trend continues."

He will take up his post on April 10.

Midlands editorial director Mark Dickinson said: "Marc has a terrific track record of achievement across a range of newspapers. The bonus is that he is a Brummie and is made up to be getting his hands on the Post.
