Exmouth Journal editor Mary Evans has retired.

She had been at the helm for the past six years, taking over when David Bazell retired in February 2000. She has worked for parent-company Archant since 1992.

During her time at the Journal Mary (right) organised several campaigns, including a highly successful drive to bring more NHS dentists to the town and, more recently, a major petition against the closure of the Rolle College campus.
