The One World Broadcasting Trust invites broadcasters, journalists and web designers whose work covers international affairs to submit entries for this year's One World Media Awards.
The ceremony, to be hosted by Channel 4’s Jon Snow, will be held at a new venue, the Porchester Hall, Bayswater, and the deadline for entries is March 17. For details of entry requirements, eligibility, fees and application forms visit www.owbt.org


More newspapers have been launched in the last two years than at any time in a generation.
The World Newspaper Congress, to be held in Moscow in June, will examine how publishers are extending their flagship brands into a wider range of print products to appeal to new readers and generate new revenues.


Lindsay Jennings has been appointed features editor of The Northern Echo. Lindsay, who joined the North-East morning paper six years ago from the Morley Observer, has held a number of posts, including regional chief reporter, assistant news editor and women's editor.
She succeeds Nick Morrison, who has moved to London to take up a post as press officer for the National Audit Office.

The £30,000-mark has been passed in the New Life Appeal by the Sutton Guardian to buy the latest equipment for premature babies at the neo-natal unit at St Helier Hospital.
The appeal is aiming to raise a total £50,000.
