A new free weekly paper for London's Docklands area is being launched by Archant.
The first issue of The Docklands will hit the streets next Tuesday, January 17, and 35,000 copies will be delivered to homes and businesses each week.
Its distribution area will stretch from Wapping down to London City Airport, taking in the affluent area of new riverside developments of high-rise flats and warehouse conversions.
The new paper
Garry Matthews, deputy managing director of Archant London, said: "We already publish the leading titles in Tower Hamlets (the East London Advertiser) and Newham (the Newham Recorder).
"The launch of The Docklands will cement our position as the number one publisher in the area.
"While covering the local news, the new title will firmly tap into the lifestyle needs of the readers in this unique area."
Launch editor of The Docklands is Amanda Patterson, who previously edited Archant title the Barking and Dagenham Post. She is also a former assistant editor of the Evening News in Norwich.
She is succeeded at the Post by Barry Kirk, who was previously deputy editor of the Romford Recorder.
