Johnston Press regional divisions to merge

Johnston Press is making changes to its management structure following recent expansion of the company.

The group has merged its north division with that in the north midlands/south Yorkshire to create an enlarged north division.

The change sees Chris Green, divisional managing director north, take responsibility for the enlarged division, reporting to chief operating officer Danny Cammiade.

Mike Hutchby, divisional managing director north midlands/south Yorkshire, has decided to leave the company.

Johnston Newspapers (North) consisted of Yorkshire Post Newspapers Ltd, Ackrill Newspapers Ltd, The Halifax Courier Ltd, Yorkshire Weekly Newspaper Group Ltd and Yorkshire Regional Newspapers Ltd.

It now also includes Sheffield Newspapers Ltd, Wilfred Edmunds Ltd, North Notts Newspapers Ltd and South Yorkshire Newspapers Ltd.

As part of the changes Mark Rodgers has also been appointed managing director of Sheffield Newspapers, and a general manager is to be appointed at Yorkshire Post Newspapers.

Johnston's east midlands and south midlands divisions are also to merge, to form a new midlands division in the new year.

Nick Mills, currently divisional managing director, east midlands division, will be divisional managing director, midlands division, and managing director of Northamptonshire Newspapers Limited.

Chris Pennock, currently divisional managing director, south midlands division, will take on the newly-created post of group newspaper sales and marketing director.

He will be responsible for overseeing group-wide initiatives relating to daily and weekly newspaper sales, and he will work with divisional managing directors and company managing directors.

The new midlands division will include East Midlands Newspapers Ltd, Welland Valley Newspapers Ltd, Lincolnshire Newspapers, Anglia Newspapers Ltd, Northamptonshire Newspapers Ltd, Premier Newspapers Ltd, Central Counties Newspapers Ltd, Heart of England Newspapers and Bedfordshire Newspapers Ltd.
