Just 'loo-k' at that wall!

Sports fans are lifting the lid on the latest news every time they go to the loo at a city pub.

Those who want to read the up-to-date goings-on of Exeter City FC and the Exeter Chiefs make a beeline for the gents’ toilets at the Thatched House Inn, Exwick, where one wall is continuously being repapered with copies of the back pages of the Express and Echo.

Landlord Graham Hames said: “Some pubs put bits from the paper in a picture frame and hang them up, so we thought we would do this instead.”

Echo’s sports writer Matt Bamsey said: "We are always looking for new readers."

The unusual decoration takes the form of a collage and started around four months ago with the clubs’ pre-season news.
