TV news crew focuses on Post & Times

The Leek Post & Times found itself making the news last week when a TV crew from Central News visited its offices to discover the secret of its success.

Editor Doug Pickford was interviewed after its latest sales figures – up 5.59 per cent - were highlighted.

The television crew analysed the Leek Post & Times sales in comparison to losses sustained at the Birmingham Mail, which was in focus because of its relaunch in the heart of Central News’s west region.

The film crew spent half a day in and around the Leek newsroom for the item on the evening regional news programme

Doug said “There’s no real secret to our success. It’s just down to plain hard news and not being afraid of local issues like covering Women’s Institute meetings.

”We give people what they want.”

The Post & Times sells 11,870, which is 100 per cent actively purchased, according to the latest audited ABC circulation figures.
