Feature writer Claire Sherwen has celebrated getting married with a fundraising party in aid of Cumbria's air ambulance service.
Claire, who works for the News & Star in Carlisle, married Ian Thompson, and they decided to hold an event a day after the ceremony to support Great North Air Ambulance Service, the charity that provides Cumbria with the air rescue helicopter.
The couple held a barbecue at Claire's parents' farm in Egremont the day after they married at their local Haile Church, raising £860.
Claire (pictured) said: "I was really thrilled to be able to do something for the Pride of Cumbria and the air ambulance service that continues to save many lives across our county.
"The best thing I could think of doing was for us to share our happy day with others."
The couple laid on a traditional Cumberland Neet, holding the event in one of the barns on the farm.
There was also ice cream, a bouncy castle and entertainment for the children.
The Cumberland Fellsiders group told tales, jokes and songs in traditional Cumberland dialect and the evening was rounded off with a resounding chorus of Land and Hope and Glory.
