Telegraph's name adorns news stadium

The Coventry Evening Telegraph’s name has gone up at the Sky Blues’ new stadium ready for the start of the new football season.

The paper was signed up as the first corporate sponsor of Coventry City Football Club's new £113m stadium.

It is backing the club by taking the name of the north stand, directly behind one of the goals.

The Evening Telegraph's name is now displayed prominently on the entrance to the Ricoh Arena's north stand, and above the stand inside the stadium.

Editor Alan Kirby said: "We are very proud to be linked with the Ricoh Arena, which is the most exciting development Coventry has seen for years.

"We are also hoping that our sponsorship of the home fans’ stand will bring success to the Sky Blues."

Construction work on the new arena began in January last year and will be completed by the end of this month.
