Dream wedding for Gloucestershire journalists

Two regional press journalists have tied the knot three years after meeting as trainees at Highbury College.

Peter Orchard, who now works for The Citizen, and Rachael Limbrick, who works for its sister paper, The Forester, were married earlier this month and have just returned from a honeymoon in Mauritius.

The ceremony took place at a packed St James' Church in Quedgeley, where guests included friends and colleagues from both newspapers, and this was followed by a reception at the Bowden Hall Hotel in Upton St Leonards.

The wedding photographer was Forester snapper Janine Janusch.

The couple met in 2002 while on a three-month block release course in Portsmouth, but it took a bit of matchmaking from fellow Citizen reporter David Thomas - who was also on the course - before they got together.

At the time Rachael was a trainee reporter on The Citizen and Peter was working on the Isle of Wight County Press.

With a lucky twist of fortune, Rachael was offered a job on The Forester and Peter was able to take over her role in Gloucester, before more recently moving to the sports desk.

Soon after Peter moved to Gloucester the couple bought a house in Quedgeley, and they have now sealed their romance with a dream wedding.

Rachael said: "It was brilliant. I know it's a cliché but it really was the best day of my life."
