Eastern Daily Press business editor Chris Starkie was runner-up in the regional journalist of the year category at the Headlinemoney awards 2005.
Judges said Chris had "transformed the business section of a popular, well-read regional paper into something heavyweight".

Since its launch it has won the best website prize at the annual Johnston Press awards, and was commended by the Newspaper Society at its Advertising, Marketing and Digital Awards.

The Campaign for Freedom of Information is holding FOI training courses in Glasgow and London.
The Glasgow course will take place on June 27 and will concentrate on the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act and Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations, while the London course will be held on July 13.

Andrew Graham, Master of Balliol College, Oxford, has been appointed as a member of the Scott Trust, the owner of the Guardian Media Group, whose portfolio includes the Manchester Evening News together with more than 40 other paid-for and free titles published from Berkshire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Surrey.
The Scott Trust was created in 1936 to secure the financial and editorial independence of the Guardian in perpetuity.

The Impartial Reporter has announced its continued sponsorship of the Northern Ireland Shows Association/Impartial Reporter Beef Cow Championship.
The final will be hosted by Enniskillen Show on August 3.
The championship is a lucrative one for the pedigree exhibitors with a total of £1,000 in prize money donated by the paper.
