Copyright complaint leads to war of words between Mail and club chairman

A war of words has erupted between the Hull Daily Mail and Hull City Football Club chairman Adam Pearson.

The row blew up after the paper accused new prospective radio station KC107.3FM - partly owned by the football club chairman - of using its stories without permission, and reported it to industry regulator Ofcom.

In retaliation, the chairman launched an attack on the Mail in a Hull City match programme and on the club's website, publishing a detailed statement which claimed the paper was attempting to discredit the radio station in its bid for a licence.
