The Argus has thrown down to gauntlet to local firm Wrigleys in its bid to clear used chewing gum from the streets of Brighton.
The paper says that gum is the number one cause of litter and blights towns and villages across Sussex. It wants Wrigley UK to shoulder some of the burden of the cost of clearing up the chewing gum, which costs 3p a stick to make and 10p a stick to clear up.
