'Brain academy' takes off at regional press publisher

Management training has taken off at publishers Archant, with the launch of the new Archant Academy.

The training programme has undergone a complete review of the way it is managed and provided to come up with the new scheme after executives agreed that the world of work was changing and the business would also benefit from change.

The new academy now includes a suite of management training that can be undertaken as a whole or in modules.

Successful staff will receive a certificate recognised by employers and colleges throughout the UK.

Courses include problem solving, business correspondence, presentation skills, health and safety, recruitment and selection, equal opportunities and performance leadership.

Group human resources consultant Denise Lincoln said: “A sub-committee of the HR forum conducted this review meeting with all of Archant’s current training providers, speaking with other companies who have a good reputation for management training and meeting with recommended providers to find out more about the wider market.”

The programmes will be provided by Pattison Associates, a group of management training and development providers who have come highly recommended and impressed the HR forum with their knowledge and approach.
