A support network for black media professionals is to present a masterclass on 'Stepping up the journalism career ladder – tips for success'.
The event – for individuals from all visible minorities - is being run by Aspire, in partnership with volunteering and training organisation CSV.
Participants will learn how to progress from being an industry entrant to reach the top of the game in journalism.
They will have the chance to network with established reporters and editors from print, broadcasting and online journalism by sharing experiences and learning strategies for success.
The event will take place on Friday March 19 between noon and 4pm at the CSV Clubhouse, 43-45 White Lion St, London N1 9PW. It will cost £5 per person.
Speakers include Independent columnist Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, Channel 4 home affairs producer Keme Nzerem, Alex Chambers from International Financing Review, Aspire founder Corinne Amoo, and Selina Thompson, fashion editor at Touch magazine.
Places are limited so register early by getting in touch with aspireuk@hotmail.com. Payment will be on the door.
Media partners and sponsors for the event are The Trumpet newspaper and Trinity Mirror.
