Trinity Mirror has launched a new paid-for weekly newspaper in the affluent South West Midlands area.

The Solihull & Warwickshire Guardian is a high-quality weekly newspaper dedicated to the communities of Solihull and the Warwickshire area, and is edited by Ross Crawford.

Deputy editor Enda Mullen and news editor Shelia Grandfield, who are both Solihull born and bred, and chief sub-editor Jamie Home complete the senior team.

Published every Thursday, it will be available from newsagents, supermarkets and shops across Solihull and the villages to the South of the town, such as Henley in Arden and Hockley Heath, and provide readers with an intelligent round-up of the week's news.

Regional marketing director Jane Nugent said: "The launch of The Solihull & Warwickshire Guardian shows our commitment to the area.

"We will be able to offer an unbeatable portfolio of newspapers for advertisers looking to target people in this affluent region."

The launch of the Guardian will boost Trinity Mirror's portfolio in the Midlands, which also includes the Coventry Evening Telegraph, Birmingham Evening Mail and Solihull News.

It also follows the launch of the free Kenilworth Citizen, which is delivered to 9,000 homes.
