New appointment as Milburn PR venture grows

Former South Wales Echo editor Alastair Milburn has announced plans to expand his media and PR agency, just a month after it was officially launched.

Peter Bibby is to join the firm as account director, after a successful first month led Alastair to make his first appointment.

Currently community affairs editor at the South Wales Echo, Peter has worked at the newspaper for 32 years, during which time he has also been involved in organising events and charity work which have seen him build up a large network of contacts.

Alastair said: "I worked very closely with Peter during my three years as editor at the Echo and he is very well known and very well liked in the business.

"He will be looking after the day-to-day support of clients and hopefully using his contacts to bring in more."

Peter will start his new role on March 1 - when the agency will also move into its own offices on Cathedral Road in Cardiff City Centre, having temporarily been run from Alastair's home.

Alastair said: "I think it's important that now the business is up and running it is in the right area and gives out the right perception.

"Taking on offices is a big step but I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and now the structure of the business is set up hopefully it will provide a springboard to building up the client base."
