Makeover for magazine as newspapers take it in-house

A monthly magazine which is given away with the Kent and Sussex Courier and Sevenoaks Chronicle has been given a make-over after its production was taken in-house by the sister titles.

Today magazine was previously contracted to a third party company, but is now being put together by an in-house team headed by new editor Lucia Blash.

The managing editor is Giles Broadbent, editor of the Kent and Sussex Courier, who has also redesigned the magazine.

Relaunched under the slogan "Brand new features, bright new look", the A4-sized magazine is aimed at the top end of the market.

The first issue includes a Valentine's special with a focus on selecting the right diamond ring, a competition to win a luxury romantic night and features on romantic books and Valentine's gift ideas.

New features include "20 Things You Ought To Do This Month", a guide to the top events in the area.

Lucia said: "The aim is to provide a mixture of in-depth reads, colourful picture spreads and small features that tempt those just dipping in.

"We have drawn on the talents of our reporters and photographers which gives the magazine a very local and familiar feel but with all the production values of a top-of-the-range Sunday supplement.

"The in-house team, with its new energy and commitment, aims to ensure that we are the product our readers and advertisers turn to first."
