Dead Man Weds star joins the MEN

Comedian and actor Dave Spikey has joined the Manchester Evening News for the day.

Dave, who is currently starring TV show Dead Man Weds as the editor of the Fogburrow Advertiser And News, will edit today's edition of the paper's celebrity column, The Diary.

With more than a few famous friends and fans in the region, Dave will spend the day in the newsroom to bring readers the best stories and gossip he can lay his hands on.

He said: "When I am on The Diary, I want to instil the triumvirate of journalism: truth, diligence and integrity. It's what I live my life by.

"I'm not sure what I'll do once I'm there, I'll probably ring all my mates for stories."

Regularly edited by Carmel Thomason, The Diary features in the Manchester Evening News every weekday.
