The News and Star pulled its Saturday editions due to power cuts which followed major floods in Carlisle.
Today's edition was printed – a special edition with more than 30 pages of news and pictures on the flooding that claimed the lives of three people.
It had an early print run and hit the streets at 7am.
During the weekend, the Star's website www.newsandstar.co.uk kept readers up to date on events.
It carried background news and features on the chaos as well as breaking stories.
They were posted to the website as they happened, with the tale unfolding to internet users as rivers continued to break their banks. Many rivers were again expected to peak this morning.
There are more than 200 flood pictures online both from staff photographers and readers who have been able to send them in.
The website also hosted the latest official information about the floods - which cut the town off for most of Saturday – as well as weather warnings and up-to-date traffic news.
West Cumbria was declared a "disaster zone" by police and the Government has pledged help.
Three people died in the storms that flooded houses and cut off power to 50,000 homes in Carlisle. Insurers say the repairs could cost tens of millions of pounds.
Police were still forcing their way into flooded homes yesterday afternoon to make sure no one was trapped or hurt.
Check back to HoldtheFrontPage later today for more news on the News & Star – and how it got today's paper out.
