A new website called Property News online has been developed by the Cambridge Evening News media team.
Launched in September, the site was created by four of the Cambridge Evening News' in-house web designers, and more than 700 hundred properties can now be viewed online at any one time.
Property News Online is the third website to be updated by the team, following motors and jobs, and the design team consulted estate agents and users of the old site before making changes.
The new site has many new features including the exclusive Smartsearch map which allows users to explore properties across Cambridgeshire and beyond.
Web editor Jeremy Palmer said: "The site is designed to help people find a home. It is a service to assist people.
"Last month users viewed 150,000 pages in total."
The new service provides information about commercial premises as well as residential properties.
Jeremy said: "The Cambridge Evening News has a pull-out commercial property section and we realised that commercial property is a growing part of the market - we decided to incorporate it into the new website."
Property hunters can register to the site for free. If they provide information about the kind of home they are interested in they will receive details about relevant properties via the site's 'Homes by email' service.
The site also has a classifieds section where users can view information about properties to buy and rent and obtain contact details.
