Christmas tree decorated with old press cuttings

Reporter Richard Parr used his seasonal decorating skills to trim a Christmas tree in old copies of the Fakenham and Dereham Times and its sister title the Eastern Daily Press.

His hard work ensured the Archant companies were represented at the Fakenham Church Christmas Tree Festival, where it stood alongside more than 50 other trees with different themes.

The crowning glory was a fairy at the top – made by carefully sculpting pages of the EDP.

The newspaper version raised cash for the paper's We Care appeal, for people caring for relatives at home.

Senior district reporter Richard said he enjoyed the experience – and had some plans up his sleeve for next year's entry.

He said: "I'm thinking of using headlines from the EDP or miniature copies of front pages."
