Press snapper shoots WI's naked charity calendar

A nude charity calendar is being backed by the Kentish Times.

The paper got involved after some Women's Institute ladies posed on its pages last year.

The 2005 calendar was launched at the Biggin Hill Battle of Britain Show in aid of a local hospice – and with pictures taken by Kentish Times snapper Simon Hildrew.

Although the ladies found posing in the nude "quite a troubling experience", they found the relationship with their local paper helped them pluck up the courage.

Downe WI President Barbara Stevens said: "The idea of doing a calendar followed our poses for the Kentish Times last year.

"Although it was nerve-racking having the pictures taken but it was worth it and the calendar looks so professional."
