Budding journos bid to get the inside story

Two budding young journalists are to go behind the scenes at the South Bucks Star as part of a charity stunt by the paper in aid of Children in Need.

The free weekly decided to do its bit for the cause by holding a charity auction, and raised £300 as wannabe reporters from across its circulation area made bids for the chance to spend a morning in the newsroom.

Teenagers Paul Cochran and Cheryl Wheatley won through, and after being declared the highest bidders they are looking forward to getting the inside story on their local paper.

Fifteen-year-old Paul and 18-year-old Cheryl, whose parents entered a sealed pledge to reward her for her hard work, are also hoping the experience could be the first step to a career in journalism.

Cheryl said: "I'm so excited.

"I am definitely going to make the most of this experience, I just can't believe its happening to me."
