The Evening Press at York has made three key editorial appointments to strengthen the team as the newspaper enters the next stage of its development as a compact.
Bill Hearld, (left), assistant editor for six years, has been promoted to deputy editor with immediate effect.
In the rest of the reshuffle, news editor Francine Clee is to replace Chris Buxton, who was recently appointed editor of the weekly Ryedale Gazette & Herald, as assistant editor.
Chief sub-editor Steve Nelson is taking on the newly-created role of production editor.
Both appointments will be from January 1.
