Champagne and celebrations as news HQ opens

Archant London's new head office has been opened with a celebration champagne reception.

Chief executive John Fry cut the ribbon on the state-of-the-art headquarters, called Media House.

The new venue replaces the old Recorder House building which was the home of the Recorder series of weekly papers for 50 years.

The new building incorporates many innovative features that will make it a pleasant working environment; including climate control and air-conditioning units.

The internal layout has been designed to encourage communication between different departments.

  • John Fry, left, Enzo Testa and Chris Carter at the opening of Media House
  • Enzo Testa, Archant London's executive managing director, said: "Media House captures the spirit of our business with its bold, forward looking design.

"It provides us with a facility of which we can rightly be proud as we strive to continue the success story of Archant London."

Enzo thanked award-winning architects Spacelab UK for their work, and said: "[the building] is everything they said it would be and more."

Archant London has 52 newspaper titles, magazines and websites - including 27 titles acquired earlier this year from Independent News and Media.
