Johnston's Cammiade takes on NS marketing role

Danny Cammiade has been appointed as the Newspaper Society's new marketing committee chairman.

Director of operations for Johnston Press, he is a long-serving member of the committee, which deals the society's communications work in advertising, newspaper sales, readership, events and research areas.

Danny (pictured) joined the advertising sales team of Beckett Newspapers in 1978. In 1983 he was appointed as advertisement manager, and in 1988 he became marketing director for West Sussex.

Following the acquisition of Beckett Newspapers by Johnston Press, Danny was appointed managing director of the West Sussex County Times in 1994. In 1996 he was given the job as managing director of Johnston Newspapers North Midlands.

In July 1999 Danny moved to Portsmouth where he took the job as divisional managing director of the newly created South Division following the acquisition of Portsmouth & Sunderland Newspapers. He was appointed assistant to the chief executive in April 2001 and to his current role in November 2001.
