The Newcastle Chronicle's BIG campaign has proved a huge success, with readers taking up promotional offers in their thousands.
And sales of the Evening Chronicle have taken off in September with 35,000 additional copies being sold in the first two weeks of the month, making it the most successful start to September ever.
As part of the BIG campaign, mini-Chronicles were delivered to nearly 500,000 homes in the region, with yet more being handed out to people in Newcastle city centre and around Newcastle Central Railway Station.
Alongside this was the GNER "rail sale" giving readers the chance to make savings on travel from the North East to London. The promotion created an impressive response with almost 7,000 readers taking up the offer in the first two weeks.
As well as an effective radio advertising campaign, eye-catching advertising has been appearing across the region's Metro system and Central Railway Station. And the Chronicle's taglines 'Big in the City', 'Big on Sport' and 'Big on News' have been visible on bus sides throughout the region.
A giant inflatable Evening Chronicle has made an appearance at various locations around the region from the Millennium Bridge across to the Baltic and from Greys Monument to the Angel of the North.
