Sunday Herald editor Andrew Jaspan has been announced as a speaker at McMedia – the dining club of ALLmediscotland.com – on September 23.
Andrew, who will soon become the editor of the Melbourne Age in Australia, will defend the recent Scotsman accusations that he lied during a debate held about the Scotsman held on the Newsnight Scotland TV programme.


The South Wales Argus has been praised for its part in helping reduce car crime figures in Gwent by 12 per cent between April and July through its Car Safe campaign.
Detective Superintendent Geoff Ronayne said the paper helped the police publicise crime prevention advice and details of car crime hotspots.


The Yeovil Express's Paws for a Pound appeal has raised £3,000 of its £35,000 target for the Guide Dogs for Blind Association.

The Periodical Publishers Association's PTC Professional Certificate has been rebranded as the PPA Professional Certificate in Journalism.
The qualification is for journalists working on periodical and electronic publications and has been designed by magazine editors to assess new journalists' on-the-job ability.


The Plymouth Evening Herald has joined forces with the Co-op to organise one of the biggest sponsored walks to ever take place in the city to raise money for the paper's Give A Child A Chance appeal.
Two separate sponsored walks will take place on September 25 and 26 to help reach the target of £500,000 for children with special health needs in Plymouth.


The Peterborough Evening Telegraph's Charity Press Ball, which raises cash for worthy causes, will take place on November 27.
The black tie event at The Haydock Hotel features a three-course dinner and dancing as well as casino tables, a clairvoyant and a caricaturist.
