Chance for journalists to party at Press Club ball

Up to 280 journalists are expected to gather for the annual Birmingham Press Club Ball on November 26.

The black-tie event will be a chance for members of the West Midlands media scene to get together for a night of networking, drinking, dinner and dancing.

The Ball has been supported by accountants and business advisors PFK which has pledged £3,000.

Press Club chairman Andrew Sparrow said: "PFK's backing means we can concentrate on making this year's Birmingham Press Club Ball the most successful in years.

"We are already way ahead on table bookings compared with this time last year and with PFK's backing we are sure the event will be a sellout."

PFK's regional managing partner Brian Hamblin said: "The Birmingham Press Club Ball is one of the blue ribbon social events of the year, and on Friday, November 26, the brightest and best of the West Midlands media scene will be gathering at The Burlington Hotel for a wonderful night out."

Tickets for the event are £25 to journalists and members of the Birmingham Press Club and £35 to non-members and can be booked by calling Fred Bromwich on 07813 332746.

• The Birmingham Press Club is also holding celebrity lunches for Greg Dyke on Thursday, September 30 – shortly after the publication of his much-awaited biography – and TV presenter Jon Snow on Thursday, October 12. For further details and tickets call Dominga de la Cruz on 07837 043909.
