Despite a late flurry of bids for Newcastle Chronicle reporter Jamie Diffley's signed photo on eBay, HoldtheFrontPage emerged victorious!

After an office whip-round, we are now the proud owners of the A4 signed picture, put up for sale on the back of a centre-page spread by Jamie about the whys and wherefores of the popular internet auction site.

We have cleared a space on the wall of our office in Derby, after bidding £20.50, which will go to the paper's Sunshine Fund for disadvantaged children.

Here at HoldtheFrontPage we think Jamie's a real bargain - especially when held up against a search for "similar items" through eBay.

We were offered a "superb signed photo" of Jamie Carragher (99p), a Jamie Lee Curtis signed picture (£7.49), Jamie Bell (Billy Elliott - £3.75), and Jamie Mitchell from Eastenders (actor Jack Ryder) for £9.49.

He might not be as well-known as some of the celebs in the eBay search, but we're convinced his by-line will still be around when they're gone and forgotten…
