The Yorkshire Post has hit the airwaves to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
Former Post reporter Sir Bernard Ingham appeared on BBC Radio 4 to talk about the paper, its history and its present day role, in an interview with Yorkshire-born presenter Jenni Murray.


The Big Poll - raising questions on crime, drugs, politics, sex and religion - has been launched by the Chronicle in Newcastle to produce a snapshot of readers' lives.
A two-page form was published in the paper, and the questionnaire is also being made available online.


The Hull Daily Mail is to work in partnership with arts venue the Hull Truck Theatre to run the Star Struck Appeal - a bid to raise £1m for a new home for the theatre company.
Editor John Meehan said: "Hull Truck has been a great asset to the city for many years. The company is one the whole city should be proud of."


Police heading an operation in Birmingham to rid communities of drug pushers have praised the Evening Mail for its part in the project.
DCI Gary Campbell said: "Only yesterday I received a letter giving specific intelligence relating to dealing in the Longbridge area from a person responding to an article in the Mail."


A survey by the Eastern Daily Press into service from the Norwich Union's India-based calls centre has found calls may take longer than UK-based rivals… but could save customers money.
Norwich Union sparked controversy when it moved the calls centre abroad, with users complaining of delays and difficult accents - but its staff in Bangalore and Delhi were ready to throw in extras and usually beat the rest on price, according to the EDP.


Guernsey postal staff have given the Guernsey Press and Star Final Hour campaign a boost by signing up to donate the pay from the final working hour of this month to the people of Darfur, in the Sudan.
The appeal has been launched in association with radio station Island FM.
