Online this is relaunch project complete

The project to redesign and extend Northcliffe's network of this is sites has been completed with the launch of www.tamworthherald.co.uk.

It is the latest site to migrate to the new platform, marking the end of the five-month rollout programme.

The project aimed to emphasise newspaper branding, increase ease of use and encourage more direct interaction with newspapers by readers.

Several sites that had previously been fed by two major titles have been split up into two sites with each focused on just one newspaper brand.

The Western Daily Press, Bristol Evening Post, the Press & Journal and Aberdeen Evening Express now have their own sites, rather than competing for space on shared ones.

Because the structure and design of the 24 new sites is totally different, every single piece of content on each one had to be reformatted.

More than 10,000 pieces of new content were also created from scratch.

The content team at Northcliffe Electronic Publishing researched and created listings for more than 9,000 new leisure and entertainment venues and uploaded more than 10,000 images.

Nearly 50 new competitions have been added to the sites which have attracted more than 178,000 entries.

In June the this is network had 14.7m page views from 1.1m unique users.
