Journalists invited to examine conflict aftermath

The aftermath of 30 years of Troubles in Northern Ireland is set to be discussed next month, at an event organised by the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma.

BBC Belfast journalist Mervyn Jess will be among the speakers at the event, which will examine the political and social legacy of the time, and other journalists are being invited to join the seminar.

The discussion will also ask what lessons can be learned for other conflict areas in the world, and how communities cope post-conflict.

Other speakers will include psychotherapist and former Northern Ireland Assembly speaker Lord John Alderdice and psychiatrist Dr Oscar Daly.

The meeting will be held at The Frontline Club, 13 Norfolk Place, London, on July 15.

Anyone who would like to attend should contact Mark Brayne at mark.brayne@dartcentre.org.
